What is a monthly bookkeeping document request?
A monthly bookkeeping document request is the checklist you send a client for that month's files. They check what is included, upload the files, and note anything still missing.
When to use it
- At the start of each month, one link per client.
- When a client still owes invoices, receipts, or statements.
- When you want uploads on the board instead of in a shared inbox.
- Beside your bookkeeping engagement letter, in the same workflow.
What to include
Who and which month
Client or business name, email, month, and year.
What is in the upload
A checklist of the file types you usually need.
The files
One upload for everything they are sending this month.
Questions
A note for anything unusual or still missing.
What to leave out
Do not ask clients to type account numbers. The files belong in the upload.
Why FormSign
Each client is a row. You can see who has sent the month and who has not started. The starter letter lists every question label as a placeholder, so a follow-up note matches the form. Add your engagement letter to the same workflow if you want that signed too.
This template is a starting point, not legal or tax advice. Adjust the list to the files you collect each month.
Questions
Should clients type account numbers on this form?
No. They upload the statements. This template has no field for account numbers.
What if they don't have every file yet?
They can check what they do have, upload those files, and use the questions box for the rest.
Can I change the checklist?
Yes. Edit the checkboxes so they match the files you collect each month.
Can I send this with the onboarding questionnaire?
Yes. Use onboarding once, and this request every month. Both can live in the same workspace.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. Open the template, edit the list and test an upload. You'll create an account when you want to save it and send it.
